What is FAS?

FAS stands for Family Accident Scheme and is a Free legal & personal injury service for all off duty accidents.

Who can use the Scheme?

All Service & MOD personnel including Civil servants, MoD employees including All Friends, Family and Dependants.

What types of claims/accidents are covered?

Any accident where injury occurs whilst off duty eg: road traffic accidents, trips, slips, falls and assaults caused by anyone other than yourself.

How does the Scheme Operate?

If you are injured OFF DUTY and the accident was not your fault, then contact a FAS solicitor direct and obtain immediate advice and assistance to pursue a claim FREE OF CHARGE.

How do I contact FAS?

Contact details and Initial Instruction Questionnaires for completion and submission are available on the website www.familyaccidents.com Alternatively copies of the Instruction Questionnaire are available via key personnel (eg Families Officers, Medical Officers, HR staff, Health & Safety representatives, and RAO’s) or call 0870 998 9000 and ask to speak to a FAS solicitor.

The Scheme is operated by Ralli Solicitors, a leading firm of solicitors who specialise in personal injury claims.

What about Legal Costs?

Legal costs incurred by the claimant in pursuing a claim will be recovered in addition to the compensation awarded by the courts in the event that the matter proceeds to trial. If the action is unsuccessful, there will be no charge to the individual concerned as the third party’s legal costs are insured.
